You Must

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have good character
• Be honest and truthful about past conviction
• Provide proof of legal presence in US after the exam when applying for a license
• No experience is required and you DO NOT need to be a California resident

Real Estate Course

• Complete the Real Estate Principle course with us. (Online, Home-study, Classroom available)
• Complete three required statutory courses either before applying for the exam
• Pass all courses by answering 100 open book questions with at least 70% passing score.

Apply for License

Upon Completing Principles Course and Successfully Passing the State Exam, The Department of Real Estate will send you Licensing Application and Requirements (Finger Prints for background check, Proof of Legal Presence, etc.) to fulfill prior to issuing your License.
Submit application fee of $120 if submitting with two statutory course transcripts or $145 if submitting with Principles transcript only. Mail application, fees and QLS certificate to DRE. Wait for about 4-6 weeks for License approval.

The State Exam

• Is usually given in writing with multiple choice answers.
• Allows maximum completion time of 3 hours and 15 minutes, with minimum 70% passing grade (105 correct answers)
• Allows calculator with no printing and no memory only, pen and paper will be provided
• Provides results on line or in mail within 5-10 business days
• Note: Do not bring personal items with you to testing site. Leave purses, backpacks in your vehicle. Cell phones must be turn off prior to entering testing room.
